We have a large and efficient tooling department that enables us to get new boards into manufacture as quickly as possible - a key requirement in today's market. The data package from our customers is input to our CAM ( Computer Aided Manufacturing ) systems. Embedded within the software is our unique "Expert Knowledge System" this is a comprehensive library of solutions to the pitfalls and problems that we have encountered over the many years that we have been manufacturing circuit boards.
This knowledge is used by the computers to check each new design. We often find features that will make the design difficult to manufacture. This information is flagged up to the customer with suggestions for improvement. By pooling our knowledge and working with our customers we produce a design that is optimised for manufacture while losing none of the functionality required. As a final check before use the data is compared with the original provided by the customer. Electronic net compare and electronic image compare routines are run within the computers to ensure that the integrity of the original data has been maintained.
To simplify set-ups and streamline production flow we use a small range of standard panels. The optimised design for the Individual customer boards are step and repeated into one of these standard panels.
A full manufacturing specification is sent electronically to the production planning department.
Data required to drive our laser plotters, optical inspection machines, drilling machines, plating lines, profiling machines and electrical testers is extracted in the appropriate format and sent via our high speed secure LAN ( local area network) to the appropriate department.
