All boards are tested between Net Ends (circuit terminations) to ensure that the printed circuit board has been manufactured to the customers design data. We use split function testing. This type of testing uses a combination of one of our fixed bed testers with a dedicated fixture and one of our flying probe testers. The exact combination depends upon the batch size and the product complexity. By using this approach we are not limited by surface density. We are able to test the most complex board in a cost-effective manner.
If the batch of boards is small, we will use only the flying probe tester. As the batch size grows we will introduce spit function testing to quicken up the process. The time taken to produce a dedicated fixture will be more than offset by the test time saving.
Any faults detected during the test process are thoroughly investigated using tone metres and the diagnostic station associated with each test machine.
