CC Electronics use a multi-skilled Team approach to improve yields in poor performing process areas.
Pareto analysis using reject data from our comprehensive database, allows us to effectively target the processes that have the poorest yield. Our Team is then organised with the objective of improving the reliability and efficiency of these processes, reducing waste and rejects.
The first team meeting is centred on potential root causes, we use an Ishikawa (fishbone) diagram with branches for Method, Material, Machine and Man to collect ideas from the whole Team.
Small planned changes are then introduced and the effects of the change monitored until we can establish the true root cause and implement an effective corrective action.
Regular monitoring quickly identifies any dip in process performance for immediate action by the team.
A typical Team is made up of around eight members from CC Electronics and a supplier Technical representative, each with clearly defined roles within the team.
I am here to lead the Team towards our objective. I will help set the targets, allocate responsibilities and ensure timings are met. I will present the Teams progress in any meetings.
