- RS274-X Gerber (Extended Gerber) for all layers
- ODB++
- Standard Gerber with separate aperture list
- HPGL for drawings
- DPF for all layers
- IPC-D-356 or Mentor for netlist files
- Excellon or Sieb & Meyer for drill files.

A typical package supplied for tooling should include the following information
Electronic Data
- All copper layers
- Solder resists - one for each side of the pcb
- Any additional layers such as silkscreen legends, peelable masks, carbon ink masks, via plugging masks
- A Pad Plot showing the position and the finished size of each hole
- Dimensioned profile drawing with a tied hole and details of drilling and profile tolerances
Board Specification
- Each of the data files and their appropriate function e.g. 45623-1.GBR = Silkscreen Legend
- Circuit Size
- Panel Details (are circuits to be supplied in panel)
- Material Thickness,Type and finished copper weight
- Order of Build for Multilayers
- Release e.g. Commercial, UL , CECC, C of C , IPC
- Metallic Finish Required
- Gold plated connectors , thickness and chamfer requirements
- Solder Resist type and colour
- Silkscreen Legend type and colour
- Special Testing or inspection requirements
